A short Video of one of our drives in North Carolina down a dirt road. We had no clue where we were so we thought it would be fun to just take the road and see where it would lead us!
When you come to the crossroad, which way do YOU go?
This is one of the Videos I shot while on a trip to North Carolina visiting this waterfall at the DuPont State Forest.
Although the water was very cold, there was no way one would bother with that. Once you jumped in, you did not want to stop having a good time.
Looking Glass Falls is a waterfall in Western North Carolina, located near Brevard.
The name comes from Looking Glass Rock, which resembles a wintertime mirror (or “looking glass”) of sunlight, as water freezes on its sides and reflects the sun.
We got to see this Waterfall in passing, just in time before a major thunderstorm arrived. This waterfall is located at the DuPont State Forest.
Grandfather Mountain is a mountain near Linville, North Carolina.
At 5,946 feet (1,812 m), it is the highest peak on the eastern escarpment of the Blue Ridge Mountains, one of the major chains of the Appalachian Mountains.
The Blue Ridge Parkway passes by the south side of the mountain and also passes over the nearby Grandmother Gap.
I still can’t fathom how high this mountain was. At first, you are to drive 3 miles up the mountain only for you to be able to climb on foot the rest of your way to the top.
There is also a bridge on top of the mountain, which makes it even more fascinating to visit this wonderful place.
Here are some pictures I took of my adventure on the highest Mountain I have ever climbed:
This picture was taken in front of Food Lion, a grocery store in Mooresville in North Carolina.
I couldn’t help but notice these beautiful wild geese everywhere in town. They are a different species than the ones I am used to looking at in Florida. They were also very friendly and seem to be quite happy to be around people.
