Vizcaya: The incomparable $120 Million dollar Mansion
Vizcaya is by far one of the Most Luxurious ‘Winter’ Homes I have ever seen. This is a Dream beyond compare.
Vizcaya, is the former villa and estate of businessman James Deering,on Biscayne Bay, Miami, Florida. The early 20th century Vizcaya estate also includes: extensive Italian Renaissance gardens; native woodland landscape; and a historic village outbuildings compound. The landscape and architecture were influenced by Veneto and Tuscan Italian Renaissance models and designed in the Mediterranean Revival architecture style, with Baroque elements. Paul Chalfin was the design director.
What’s even more mind-boggling is the fact that it took James Deering, who was also an American Vice-President, hundreds of Millions of dollars in the early 1920s to build this massive property. He spared no money when it came to his Winter Home.
